A Message from Joe T. Printer
The Way I See It

May always feels like a month with momentum. The weather turns, the days stretch out, and suddenly, the year doesn’t feel so new anymore. It feels underway.

That shift reminds me of something I’ve been working on lately: staying present.

It's easier said than done. Most of us have a hundred things pulling at us, and it can feel like success depends on moving fast and staying busy. But some of the best decisions, and the strongest connections, come from moments when I slowed down long enough to actually pay attention.

A real conversation with a customer. A fresh look at a project that’s been sitting on my desk. A quiet five minutes to think, not just react. Those are the moments that make the biggest difference.

So here’s a simple reminder: don’t miss today while it’s happening. There’s good work to be done right here, right now.

Here’s the way I see it: Being present is one of the most underrated ways to make progress.

Reposition Your Product to Tap into a New Market
BREATHE NEW LIFE INTO YOUR BRAND

Is your product struggling to gain traction? It might be time to rethink your approach.

One of the most effective ways to breathe new life into your brand is through repositioning—shifting your product’s appeal to target a fresh audience. This strategic move can unlock new opportunities, broaden your customer base, and increase sales by emphasizing your product's unique qualities in a way that resonates with a different market segment.

Why Repositioning Works

Repositioning isn’t about changing the product itself—it’s about shifting the way people perceive it. By highlighting different aspects of your product that better align with the needs of a new audience, you create fresh demand without altering your core offering.

Consider the case of Milk Duds. Originally marketed to teenagers as a go-to movie snack, the brand successfully repositioned itself by promoting its long-lasting chew as a key benefit. This subtle shift attracted a new audience—those looking for a candy that offered a prolonged, satisfying experience rather than just a quick treat.

Identifying Your Product’s Unique Appeal

To successfully reposition your product, start by pinpointing what makes it stand out. Ask yourself:

  • What unique features does my product have that haven’t been emphasized before?
  • Is there a specific experience or benefit that could appeal to a different market?
  • How does my product solve a problem that another audience might face?

In the case of Milk Duds, the extended chewing experience became the focal point. Likewise, your product might have a hidden advantage—whether it’s long-lasting durability, a unique use case, or an unexpected benefit—that can be highlighted to attract a new group of buyers.

Finding the Right Market

With your new market in mind, it’s essential to develop a compelling marketing campaign that effectively communicates the revised positioning. Here’s how:

  • Revise Your Messaging – Tailor your copy to speak directly to the new audience’s needs, desires, and pain points.
  • Update Branding Elements – Adjust visuals, packaging, and tone to align with the expectations of your new target market.
  • Leverage Targeted Advertising – Use digital marketing, influencer partnerships, and social media campaigns to reach your new audience effectively.
  • Showcase the New Benefits – Create engaging content (videos, blog posts, testimonials) that highlight why your product is now the perfect fit for this new segment.

Marketing Your Repositioned Product

Now that you’ve redefined your product’s role, it's time to update your marketing strategy.

Craft a message that speaks directly to your new target audience, highlighting the benefits that matter most to them. Just like Milk Duds used clever advertisements to promote its long-lasting quality, think about how you can creatively emphasize your product’s strengths in a way that grabs attention and resonates with the audience.

Take Action and Transform Your Product’s Market Position

Repositioning a product is a game-changer when done right.

By strategically shifting how your audience perceives your offering, you can open the door to new revenue streams and untapped opportunities. Start by analyzing your product from the perspective of a potential new customer and ask yourself: What problem does it solve for them?

Then, refine your messaging and marketing to emphasize the benefits that matter most. With a fresh perspective and a well-crafted strategy, repositioning can transform your product into a must-have for a whole new market. Don’t let a stagnant approach hold you back—embrace the power of repositioning and watch your product thrive in new spaces.

The Marketing Benefits of Being Useful
HELPFULNESS BUILDS TRUST, AND TRUST BUILDS YOUR BRAND

If you want people to remember your business, start by being helpful.

That might sound simple, but most marketing still leans too hard on hype. Usefulness, on the other hand, builds credibility. When your marketing actually helps someone, whether it solves a small problem, answers a common question, or saves them time, you’re doing more than promoting a product. You’re earning trust.

Here are a few easy ways to apply this idea:

  • Turn frequently asked questions into a one-page print handout or mailer.

  • Create a seasonal checklist or calendar your customers can actually use.

  • Send a simple tip-of-the-month postcard related to your industry.

The goal isn’t to impress. It’s to help—and that’s something people remember.

Need help turning your expertise into useful content? We’d love to help create print pieces your customers will want to keep.

Branded Habit Trackers & Productivity Pads
MAKE YOUR BRAND PART OF A ROUTINE

Apps are everywhere, but sometimes, good old-fashioned pen and paper still win.

If you're looking for a print product that adds value and keeps your brand visible, custom habit trackers and productivity pads are a smart pick. Here's why:

1. They actually get used.
A pad on a desk or counter is more likely to get noticed (and written on) than a forgotten app buried in a phone.

2. Writing things down works.
Studies show handwriting activates memory and focus in ways typing doesn't. People who write things down are more likely to follow through.

3. They double as subtle branding.
Each time someone checks off a goal or writes down a task, your logo is right there, quietly reinforcing your business.

4. They're flexible.
Create health trackers, business goal charts, sales call logs, budgeting sheets, or weekly priority lists—all tailored to your audience.

5. They make great giveaways.
Practical, low-cost, and personal—these pads are a useful item people appreciate receiving.

Looking to put your brand on something customers will use every day? We can help bring your idea to life.

How to Spot AI-Generated Scam Emails
SCAMS ARE GETTING SMARTER WITH AI

Thanks to artificial intelligence, scam emails have leveled up. They sound professional, look convincing, and can fool even the cautious. That’s why it’s more important than ever to stay sharp. Let’s bust some common myths about email safety and show you what’s really true in 2025.

Myth: Scam emails are full of spelling and grammar mistakes.
Fact: AI can now write in perfect grammar and a friendly tone, making fake emails sound legitimate and trustworthy.

Myth: If the logo and branding look real, it must be safe.
Fact: Scammers often copy real branding and design elements. Always double-check the sender’s email address, not just the name.

Myth: Urgent emails from known companies are always legitimate.
Fact: AI-generated scams often use urgency ("Your account will be locked!") to push you to act before thinking. Pause and review.

Myth: Hovering over a link is old-school advice.
Fact: It still works. Hovering lets you preview where a link really goes, without clicking into danger.

Myth: If something feels off, you’re just being paranoid.
Fact: Your instincts are probably right. When in doubt, take a second look before clicking, or just delete it.

AI may be changing how scam emails are written, but a calm, careful approach still offers the best protection.
